You really believe that mm? I mean really? Because of this little pecking away at Sony\'s core may one day make X-Box userbase higher than Sony\'s. In fact, I believe it WILL happen. They already have over 150 developers and have just signed on EA, who have said if it is a successs, they will be concentrating their efforts more of that console. Who knows, maybe Square and Konami will give future X-Box titles full exclusitivity as they did for Sony. We will actually have to see on this one.

You wont use your PS2 as a paperweight because those games are stil coming out on PS2, first even. Also, their are others still coming out, ones that youare excited over, that will never be on X-Box, GT3, for example.

It´s nothing to "believe" in... it´s fact !
The PLAYSTATION is the most popular Console on the market and the X-Box will not top that.

I believe that too.  Sony got that userbase when they had no competition.  It\'s like buying stock when it bottoms out.  The only way XBox will capture a small part of it is if 1) Sony alienates some of it (ie their own version of 32X/Sega CD) or 2) the market grows.  The market may grow, but the PSX went unchallenged.  Which means it\'s franchises went unchallenged.  You guys may know XBox has more power and is a breeze to develop for, but casual gamers (and the bulk of the Sony userbase) only know "Sony" and "Playstation".  It\'s like the NES - Sega was able to capture some of it\'s casuals thanks to sports titles and a headstart (not too mention the fact that arcades were still big then - advantage Sega).  How would the Genesis have fared against the SNES if it had released a full year later?

*sigh* I can\'t believe how scared people are getting over this game war thing. Sony will not abandon the PS2...nor will Xbox over come it. Have you forgotten that PS 1 totally DESTROYED the N64, and that was Sony\'s first crack at gaming. The N64 was faaarr superior to the PS but still more people went for Sony. Most everday people won\'t even know what an Xbox is...so they will just turn back around in their lazyboy and finish playing MGS2. And third party companies aren\' stupid....I think they like MONEY. And besides that at the price of a new whole computer...in my opinion the Xbox is the one that\'s going to be a pricey paper wieght.
Playstation 2...yeah, I got that:D

I want GT3. So I want PS2.
I want Halo. So I want Xbox.
I want (insert cool title here). So I want NGC.

Buy them all. In the end the competition means better games.

I don\'t think we have to worry about X-Box being the hawk and swooping up all the PS2 developers.

Or just buy one.  Everyone from Saturn owners to PS owners had classics come their way.  The PS2 has some really cool games in the pipeline so I really can\'t find a reason to be worried.

My personal feelings on the matter are that I think the reason EA is going to XBox is probably the same as last generation.  EA is ALWAYS multi-platform.  I never expected them to be exclusive to only PS2.  EA isn\'t like that.  I thought from the day they announced EA \'has interest in the XBox\' I thought they\'d totally develop for them.

As for the XBox.  I think this machine will be the best in hardware.  I\'m afraid people we must concede and realize it will be more powerful then the PS2, heck it better be more powerful, coming out nearly 2 years after the PS2\'s launch in Japan.  They have everything already built into the system so evey develper will probably use the modem and Hard Drive capabilities.  Graphics will be more detailed and most likely sharper.  I\'m still wondering how much better the added effects like rain, lighting, water, etc. effects are going to compare to the EE in the PS2 (That was what Sony spent so much money on...making it have great effects.  just wish developers would take more advantage of it.

Now the question is games.  We know PS2 is getting a lot, but how many is XBox getting?  With already over 150 announced developers you can expect a lot.  Sure that\'s only around half of the PS2\'s over 300 developers but that\'s a good start for just entering the console world.  Now that\'s a ton more then the Gamecube has and more than likely Nintendo will delay the system\'s launch and XBox will be released beforehand.  I think GC has like 30 known developers.  Fortunately they have strong 1st and 2nd party support .

Well, in conclusion I think that the XBox could quite possibly take over the gaming world as the best system, or come to a close second.  What I\'m definitely sure about is PS2 will be in 1st or 2nd place at the end of this gaming race.  I also personally would like to see the XBodx take over because it really is going to throw out some great games if the right developers go to it.  Ease of programming.  I think the only thing that can kill the PS2 is its difficulty in programming, and if XBox starts getting more of a userbase and more developers others might jump ship and go right for the ease of XBox developing.

Heck, Square could finally pull off the type of graphics in a game how they want w/o any troublesome programming.  I think Squaresoft will definitely bring their FF franchise to the XBox.

PS2 is still gonna have all the games.  So for the next few years it\'s going to be my top system.  And it will stay that way unless XBox does something about it.  I really don\'t see the Gamecube as going to be a very strong contender.  Definitely in the kids market because that\'s their strong point (I don\'t want to hear any crap from GC die-hard fans either because it\'s true that most of Nintendo\'s business comes from the kids that play Pokemon).  That is my reason for leaving it out of most of the argument.  hey, I could end up totally wrong but this is just the way I look at things.

Go PS2 and hopefully the XBox will rock!!!
